Position Overview
The Accounting Professional develops controls necessary for the proper conduct of the business, maintains accurate records, and establishes and maintains the data processing capabilities to accomplish the dealership's objectives.
Who would I interact with?
This position interacts daily with Controller, Accounting Associates, Sales Associates, Sales Managers, support staff, and customers, just to name a few.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Analyze general ledger accounts and schedules.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist the Controller with preparation of monthly financial statements and tax payments.
- Prepare various monthly budget and commission reports in Excel and Word.
- Bill new, used and wholesale vehicle deals.
- Calculate gross profit or loss.
- Post accounting entries
- Post internal service repair orders and parts invoices on a daily balance.
- Process and manage Accounts Receivable.
- Make collection calls.
- Prepare daily bank deposit.
- Clear checks and post accounting entry.
- Payoff cars from floorplan as they are sold and funded from various banks.
- Process warranty cancellations and customer refunds.
- Cut checks to various banks, customers, and warranty companies.
- Implement new policies and procedures to ensure organization and efficiency.
- Title work and accounts payable as needed.
- Monthly Bank Reconciliation and floorplan statement.
- Create and maintain precise and accurate charts and reports.
- Consolidate financial data and materials for key leadership meetings.
